The rural southern culture of Plains, Georgia revolves around farming, church, and school, which had a large influence in molding the character and shaping the political policies of the 39th President of the United States.

Carter Gardens Now Open at Jimmy Carter National Historical Park
Jimmy Carter National Historical Park is excited to announce the opening of Carter Gardens section of the Carter Home and Gardens for public access. The Carter Home remains closed to the public.
